Raising Money For Small Charities
My names Gail, I work full time as a carer working with special needs children. In my spare time I organise Equine Boot Sales to raise money for small charity's who need our help. A few friends Gill, Rebecca, Keri, Jen and Stuart help me on the day by helping sell home made cakes, sausage rolls and hot drinks. I organised my first one in 2018. I was lucky enough for Claire Dudley to allow me to hold one at Hadham Mill EC in Much Hadham. It was an amazing day raising money for Penniwells RDA we raised £850. We managed to get prizes donated by different people/horsey shops it was a great day. We was then unable to do this again at Hadham Mill. So I decided to organise one in Oct 2019 there was someone who was organising one at Little Hadham Hall but decided not to go ahead so I decided to take it on it was a prime place as the tables were supplied, there was a kitchen, toilets and a massive car park, even better had a park at the other end we held 5 Equine table top sales there until COVID took over. Once we was aloud to continue and the weather got better I found a place in Much Hadham at the Recreation Grounds which was outdoors, a prime place for everyone to spread out, no toilets available which was fine due to the COVID. Unfortunately it wasn't a regular place for us to have bootsales due to football matches. Then I found Widford Playing Field. This is a great place for us to have our bootsales here. A massive field with lots of space, even has electricity! No toilets but that's fine due to COVID. Perfect so I organise these events now outdoors when the weather is nice once a month. Lots of my regular sellers have been coming since I restarted again in 2019. Its also great to see new faces as well as my regulars! I hope to see some new faces along with old. I can't thank enough my sponsors Dan for doing the girls printed T shirts and also Ryan for making me an amazing sign from Universal Signs
